Board of Directors
As a County Service District, North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District is governed by the five-member Board of County Commissioners for Clackamas County acting as the Board of Directors for NCPRD. Until recently, the District was primarily represented by a the District Advisory Board (DAB), a nine-member volunteer board of citizens that were charged with making recommendations to the NCPRD Board of Directors.
On April 11, 2017 the Board of Directors postponed the monthly meetings of the District Advisory Board until further notice. This is because the make-up of this citizen advisory board is determined by the District’s Cooperative Intergovernmental Agreements with partner organizations. On June 6, 2017 the Happy Valley City Council voted to withdraw from NCPRD effective December 31, 2017. With the future make-up of the District Advisory Board still undetermined, the Board of County Commissioners decided to step in and temporarily assume the role of the District Advisory Board in addition to their current role as the District’s Board of Directors.
Until such time that DAB meetings resume, the Board will hold monthly public meetings within the District on the third Thursday of each month, with the agenda being dedicated solely to NCPRD business. Citizens are invited to attend these public meetings.
