[...] Clackamas Aquatic Park is a great local resource, especially in the winter months! But it can be a little overwhelming for the littler ones. That’s why parent/pre-school swim is such a great option. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9-10:30 AM, the center is open to children 6 and under only, and parents can get in for a discounted rate ($2.50 for residents, $3.50 for others). Kids 2 and under are free, while kids 2-6 are $1.50 if residents or $2.00 otherwise. The big wave pool is not open, but with the 2 smaller pools, plus the kids slide, fountains and special toys they pull out just for this time, you won’t even miss it. This is another great way to work off excess energy while meeting local families with little ones, especially in those winter months. And who doesn’t love to swim in the winter? Bathing suit worries? Don’t- it’s mostly moms (with a few dads) in there, not a swimsuit competition. Swim diapers are required for those still not potty-trained. I suggest you buy them at a local store, since the pool charges $1.50 per swim diaper. There’s also a cafe if you want a cup of coffee before or a snack to fuel you after all that playing in the water!
