The NCPRD Piranhas swim team will help participants develop competitive swimming skills, build aerobic training and teach them how to enjoy swimming in this age-group swim team.

Ages 8-18. The Piranhas Swim Team consists of two (2) different types of swim team programs:

Recreational Swim Team: The recreational swim team is a seasonal swim team that is for swimmers looking to take the next step past The North Clackamas Aquatic Park’s level 7 swim lessons and to continue learning about the sport of swimming, working on stroke improvement, refinement and overall endurance. This team practices for 1 hour.

  • Requirements for Recreational Swim Team: Participants must demonstrate the following swimming skills in order to be allowed to join this team: 50 yards of freestyle, 25 yards of backstroke*, 25 yards of breaststroke* and 25 yards of butterfly*

(*Participants are not expected to perform the strokes perfectly, but instead swimmers must have a basic understanding and basic ability to demonstrate)

Fee:    resident, $198; non-resident, $242

Time: 4:30-5:30 p.m.          Mon-Thu

Date:  February 27- May 18, 2017 (No practice 3/27-3/30)

Piranhas Swim Team-USA: The competitive Piranhas swim team is a year-round swim team for swimmers looking to develop competitive swimming skills. The Piranhas swim team is a driven team that competes in local swim meets. All participants of the team must have a valid USA swimming membership. This team practices for 1.5 hours. Currently Full

All new participants wishing to join the Piranhas swim team will be placed on a waitlist until open spots are available to be filled.

Once there are open spots for the Piranhas swim team, parents and swimmers will be contacted and must attend a Piranhas Swim Team orientation, and swimmers will have their skills tested by the coaches to determine team placement.

  • Requirements for Piranhas Swim Team: Participants must demonstrate the following swimming skills in order to be allowed to join this team: 300 yards of freestyle, 50 yards of butterfly, 50 yards of backstroke, and 50 yards of breaststroke.

*What is USA Swimming? USA Swimming is the national governing body for competitive swimming in the United States. All Piranhas swim team members must have valid USA memberships to be enrolled in the Advanced/Competitive team.
