NCPRD Piranhas  SWIM TEAM

The NCPRD Piranhas is an age-group program for recreational, experienced and competitive swimmers ages 8 – 18. The Piranhas coaching staff emphasizes fun and teamwork while focusing on proper swimming technique, training for competition, and developing each swimmer’s overall fitness level.

No Practices will be held July 4.

Registration Information

This is a popular program – limited space is available.

Returning Piranhas swimmers receive priority registration and are encouraged to register by May 25.

New swimmer orientation and registration will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 10 am. Participants must be prepared to swim at the orientation. Level placement and registration will directly follow the mandatory orientation.

There are three levels, based on age and ability (Blue, Gold, Platinum). Returning Piranhas should register for their most recent level placement. Please note, there is no Red Group option (2-days per week) during the summer.

BLUE GROUP

• Practices 4 days per week
• Monday - Thursday from 4:30pm to 5:15pm
• Blue Group was previously called Level 1

Prerequisites:

• Able to complete 50 consecutive yards of Freestyle with side-breathing
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of each competitive stroke (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle)
• Display skills equivalent to NCAP swim lesson Level E

Summer Program Fees:

• With Aquatic Park Pass – $60*
• Without Pass – $120 Residents | $140 Non-Residents
• $20 Annual Fee due at Registration

GOLD GROUP

• Practices 4 days per week
• Monday – Thursday from 5:15pm to 6:30pm
• Gold Group was previously called Level 2

Prerequisites:

• Middle – High School age
• Able to complete 5 x 100 Freestyle on 2 minute interval
• Ability to demonstrate 25 yards of each competitive stroke (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle)

Summer Program Fees:

• With Aquatic Park Pass – $90*
• Without Pass – $140 Residents | $160 Non-Residents
• $20 Annual Fee due at Registration

PLATINUM GROUP

• Practices 4 days per week
• Monday – Thursday from 3:15pm to 4:30pm
• Platinum Group was previously called Level 3

Prerequisites:

• Most experienced swimmers
• Must have coaches approval

Summer Program Fees:

• With Aquatic Park Pass – $90*
• Without Pass – $140 Residents | $160 Non-Residents
• $20 Annual Fee due at Registration
