Endowment Funds

The Friends have established several Endowment Funds which are invested and never spent. The proceeds from the Endowment Funds are used solely to support the MIlwaukie Center and are key keeping the doors open to the future.

All gifts received in honor of friends or family members are added to the Milwaukie Center Endowment Fund. In addition, $2,000 from Thursday evening Bingo proceeds are dedicated to the Endowment Fund each year. The Friends of the Milwaukie Center also receive bequests and other gifts specifically intended to build these funds.

The funds are:

The Milwaukie Center Fund – supporting programs and services at the Center

The Nutrition/Transportation Fund – proceeds go directly to the Nutrition and Transportation programs

The Scholarship Fund – helps fund class registration fees for people in need

The Fran Whitehead Rose Garden Fund – established to support the maintenance of the Sara Hite Memorial Rose Garden

The Joan Young Director’s Fund – the current Center Director is able to dedicate the proceeds from this fund for special projects

The Doris Hurst Special Needs Fund – our social services staff utilizes the proceeds from this fund to help clients in need
