Portland Milwaukie Light Rail 

Construction for the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project (Orange Line) began in southeast Portland and north Clackamas County this spring.

The new 7.3-mile light rail line begins at the Park Ave station in north Clackamas County, stops in downtown Milwaukie, continues to OMSI, then over a new bridge on the Willamette River serving Oregon Health Science University,  terminating at Portland State University. There it connects to the Portland Transit Mall and light rail lines serving the Portland Airport, Hillsboro and Gresham. The Orange Line opens fall of 2015.


Music and Positive Aging,  Wednesday, July 11, 12:30-3 p.m.

Listen to the New Chautauqua Jig, Shelia Catterall and Jan Bohlmann play Celtic and folk style music, and participate in a facilitated discussion on positive aging principals. Jan and Shelia are certified by the Sage-ing Guild as educators in conscious aging. Discussion topics will include: memory enhancement, life review, reflection, forgiveness and creativity. Participation is limited to the first 20 people who register with Social Services.

Neylana Bezerra and Ana Chaud will lead. Absorb  the summer evenings outdoors dancing to a variety of international rhythms like salsa, cha cha, meringue, and more. Enjoy this high energy workout in the beautiful brick courtyard following the lead of certified Zumba instructors from Chile and Brazil. Spectators are welcome!


Ice Cream Social and Beach Bum Day, Friday, August 10, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
