    NCPRD Co-Ed Youth Volleyball League

    This co-ed volleyball recreational program for third – sixth graders is offered as an introduction to volleyball.  Emphasis is placed on participation and FUN. Registration and parent orientations takes place in February and the season runs March – May.

    Registration Information:

    • New Participants:
      Parent Orientation is mandatory. Choose one of the following orientations:
      Tuesday, February 21st or Thursday, March 1st @ 6 pm 

    Orientation Location: North Clackamas Aquatic Park, 7300 SE Harmony Rd, Milwaukie

    • Returning Participants:
      Parents are not required to attend an orientation, but must register in person at the Aquatic Park February 1 – March 1.


    Youth Volleyball Teams

    Your coach will contact you after March 13 with practice and game schedule information. If you have not heard from a coach by March 23, please contact the Parks and Recreation Office: 503.794.8080 or recreation@clackamas.us.

     

    2012 Practice Schedule

     

    Dates: April 2 – May 21  (once a week, total of 8 practices).

    Time: One hour on M, T, W, or Th. Time TBD by coach.

    Dates: Saturday, April 21 – May 26 (one game each Saturday, total of 6 games) 6 games. Saturday, April 16 – May 21.

    2012 Youth Volleyball League Rules

    All players must wear kneepads. Players must provide their own kneepads. 

    Three 12-minute games will be played. The games will be played on a running-clock.

    The teams will switch sides after each 12-minute game

    No score will be kept

    Teams will be assigned as ‘home’ or ‘away’ by NCPRD staff. The Home team will choose sides and be the first to serve

    A whistle will be blown to start the serve

    3 – 4th grade teams will have four players on the court during play

    5 – 6th grade teams will have six players on the court during play

    Players will rotate for each new serve/dead ball and new players will enter into the rotation

    The ball will still be in play if it hits the net

    Only three hits are allowed on each side

    The ball is ‘in’ if it hits the line

    Official rules will be promoted progressively through season

    Clackamas Junior Volleyball

    Serves girls in grades 1-6 in the Clackamas High School attendance area, providing programs in recreational volleyball. Registration is in January and February; the season runs April through May. There is a camp in early August.

     

    North Clackamas Volleyball Club

    Serves girls in grades 5-12, providing programs in competitive volleyball. Try-outs begin in November; the season runs December through May.
