Impacts for parks

If ballot measure 3-451 passes, new funding could kick off major capital projects, such as:

 

• Completion of Milwaukie Riverfront Park
• A new community park and gathering place in the McLoughlin Corridor area
• A community center in Happy Valley with programs and for all ages
• New neighborhood parks throughout the district
• Acquisition of new public access and resource protection along rivers and streams

 

New funding would also allow the district to work towards its goal of having a park within walking district of every resident and make enhancements and improvements to existing parks, including adding features such as:

 

• Off-leash dog areas
• Splash pads or water play
• Community gardens
• Loop walking trails
• More picnic shelters
• Amphitheaters
• Skate parks
