Youth Dance

NCPRD offers a variety of youth dance classes designed to inspire creativity and individuality, build on cognitive skills and coordination, and provide a fun environment for making friends. All dance classes are held at the Milwaukie Center and are open to boys and girls.

Movement and Me (Ages 2-5)

Leap like gazelles and spin like tops! Dancers develop music appreciation, rhythm, coordination and strength through introductory dance steps. Build listening and socialization skills while discovering how fun dancing can be. This is a family class designed for parents, guardians and children to interact and participate together.

Joy of Movement (Ages 3-5)

Dancers explore creativity through movement for fun and skills building. Learn basic dance steps through exercises and imaginative dance games that inspire cooperation, rhythm, strength and flexibility. Boost your confidence in a safe, encouraging environment.

Tiny Tots Pre-Ballet (Ages 3-4)

This class helps teach body awareness, rhythm and dance technique. Tiny Tots receive instruction on ballet positions and are encouraged to discover free movement.

Little Dancers Ballet & Jazz (Ages 5-6)

This innovative class is designed to explore ballet and jazz dance styles while increasing agility, grace and coordination. There is a focus on stretching technique, ballet positions and across-the-floor combinations.

Hip Hop/Funk (Ages 6-11)

Learn hip hop and funk dance techniques like popping and locking. Develop rhythm and and flexibility while learning new dance moves.
