How do trees improve habitat?
Juvenile fish are at risk of being eaten by larger fish and need places to hide. When Christmas trees are sunken into water bodies at strategic locations, they increase the complexity of the aquatic habitat and provide hiding places. As a result, young fish survive and are able to grow to a size that makes them less likely to be eaten by larger fish. The more juvenile fish that survive, the more adult fish are able to spawn and increase fish populations.
