NCPRD Concord School is site of Netflix filming through January

The North Clackamas Parks & Recreation District (NCPRD), which became the owner of the Concord School at 3811 SE Concord Road in Oak Grove last March, has issued a special use permit allowing Netflix to film on the site through January 31, 2019.

Trinkets, Season 1, a show being produced by Awesomeness TV, is described as a “grounded mixed-tone half-hour about three disparate high school girls who become unlikely friends when they all meet in Shoplifter’s Anonymous.” The series is based on the book Trinkets by Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith.

The production company is informing neighbors within a one-block radius of the property about their work at the school site, and will also provide advance notice of any outdoor filming. The filming will not interfere with the current processes for planning the future of the Concord site and a future Oak Grove Library.

The special use permit issued by NCPRD to Netflix is intended to last no longer than one year. The revenue from the special permit will go to NCPRD and be used to help cover utility expenses for the site.

Several of NCPRD’s sports programs that have been scheduled at the Concord property are anticipated to occur as planned with little or no disruption. Adult Coed Basketball Open Gym, located at the Concord gymnasium, will start in spring 2019 after the filming has completed.
