Christmas Tree Drop-off

January 6 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Before you send your Christmas tree to the curb, consider recycling it to enhance fish habitat and support salmon populations. North Clackamas Urban Watersheds Council and NCPRD are collecting old Christmas trees at North Clackamas Park on January 6. No plastic, tinsel or frosted trees please.

Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
North Clackamas Park, 5440 SE Kellogg Creek Dr. Milwaukie, OR
Suggested Donation Fee: $5

How do trees improve habitat?
Juvenile fish are at risk of being eaten by larger fish and need places to hide. When Christmas trees are sunken into water bodies at strategic locations, they increase the complexity of the aquatic habitat and provide hiding places. As a result, young fish survive and are able to grow to a size that makes them less likely to be eaten by larger fish. The more juvenile fish that survive, the more adult fish are able to spawn and increase fish populations.

Volunteer
Join us in putting those trees to good use, by signing up to volunteer on Jan. 27 at Spring Park.
