North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) is asking the community for input on the naming of the new park and upgraded community center in Oak Grove – both opening in fall of 2025.

SUBMIT A NAME HERE.

The community center, which was once the Concord Elementary School, will receive essential safety and ADA upgrades as part of Phase 1 of facility improvements. The new adjoining park and playground will provide opportunities for inclusive recreation and connections to nature. Learn more about the project.

The park and community center will be jointly named; please submit one name for the campus. This process excludes the naming of the new Oak Lodge Library.

Park Naming Criteria
Only one entry per person will be allowed. The selection of a name should be done with care, thoughtfulness, and reflect the community spirit. Naming Categories include: Geographic/Special Features, Historic, Indigenous or Cultural, Native Flora and Fauna, Outstanding Individuals or Community Organizations. See the NCPRD Naming Policy for detailed guidelines and details on the naming process. To submit a name, you will be prompted to include the following information:

  • Suggested campus name (for both the community center and park)
  • Explanation of campus name choice – If available, please include background information on relevant geography, history, or biological/environmental element(s); OR biography and contact information for names of individuals/families.
  • Contact information of the submitter (name, address, email address, phone number)

How to Submit

How the Name Will Be Selected

Once the deadline has closed and submissions have been gathered, a designated naming committee will convene to review naming proposals, conduct additional research, and develop a written recommendation for staff and the Board of Directors. The District Advisory Committee will review the proposed name from the committee, prior to the recommendation going to the NCPRD Board of Directors for approval. Once finalized, the name will be publicized and shared with the community. See NCPRD Naming Policy and Addendum for further details.
